Thanks to an anonymous donor and the work of parks committee chair, Evan Lloyd, our neighborhood parks are due to get some new play equipment this summer.

Everyone was hard at work

We needed to log some volunteer hours at Englwood park so on a Saturday in early June neighbors headed out to spread some bark dust.

We had a pretty good turn out for 8:30am on a Saturday!  Many of the volunteers were from the neighborhood association, but we had some new faces too.  One couple just moved to the neighborhood a few months ago, some of us have been here a few years and others have been in NEN for a long time.

We even had some enthusiastic short people helping out!

Look how big that pile is. There's actually another pile behind it!

There will be more need for volunteers in the future, so if you’re interested in joining us for a couple of hours, please email Evan and he’ll put you on the email list for next time.

Not such a big pile now

Bark dust was raked under the new swing set

Hope to see you there!
