On January 6th, 2017, there will be a community walk to honor and remember Christine and Michael Crossland, who were regularly seen walking around the NEN and NESCA neighborhoods. On January 6, 2015, they were hit by a car and killed while walking together on Market Street. Friends and neighbors will walk to honor their memory, according to organizers, because they have inspired many in our neighborhoods with their love for each other and their commitment to walk in all kinds of weather, and the community would like to continue their legacy. All are welcome to join.

Participants will meet at the Northeast Park & Ride off of Hawthorne at 6:00pm and walk along Market to 21st St NE. Walkers will pause at the bench dedicated to their memory at Englewood Park and then return to the Park and Ride via D Street and Savage Rd. The route is approximately 3 miles in length.

Participants are asked to bring a flashlight and dress for the weather.
